What other reason is there for sock-puppetry, than to make it look like lots of people are agreeing with you?
Arrant mischief-making? Multiple-personality disorder? Whatever the reason sock-puppetry is generally seen as the worst crime on discussion boards such as this, and has been the cause of much embarassment, in real life, to some journalists, arts supremos and clergymen.

If you actually want to have real conversations on here now, with actual people and not figments of your imagination, I suggest to register a username and log-in.

I suspect the guest poster doesn't want to have a proper conversation. There I go, using divination and tarot to decide what's in the mind of a guest poster. On the other hand, maybe I'm a bit like Sybil Fawlty: "You should go on Mastermind - specialist subject The Bleeding Obvious". Full marks to Jenny, by the way.
Ooh, that Bernadette Shaw - what a chatterbox!

Nah, Jenny got it wrong and can't admit it. You can't decide the reason for things without evidence. Sorry but this system is open for guests to use any name they like. That's mys point.

Is it a crime as you put it?

Yes, it is open for guests to use any name they like, but that doesn't mean they should. You know perfectly well that by using multiple names you give the impression of multiple posters and that this in turn gives the impression that your opinion is shared by more people than just you. It was your choice to use multiple names, and the fact that you used multiple names is the evidence that you were trying to mislead people. Now you've been caught out it's too late to start claiming you were acting innocently, especially in light of this message, although I'm sure I'm not the only one whose Monday morning has been brightened by the fact you're still trying.
I have always hated eggs. I remember back when I was a sperm I tried to head-butt one. It did not end well.

Yes, it has been rather funny. But now they've been thoroughly put in their place it'll get boring very fast if they keep trying to argue.

So, Over the Rainbow. I wonder what startlingly original costuming concept they'll use this time, since they had each girl in different coloured dresses on IDA and the Maria show...surely they won't go for the obvious and have a 'rainbow' of colours this time...

Maybe they will vary the length of the pigtails.

No it isn't. The fact that I've used lots of names on here for the same issue is what is bugging you. Over time I've used a number of names on here because I can't always remember the name I used last time. However, having seen that some people just use 'guest' that's what I've done more recently. I used a number for my last few post though. Did you get it? So you are wrong. Don't make assumptions, because you shouldn’t and you should admit it when you are wrong.

Message?  Please can you give the number of the one you mean and explain?

So glad you are enjoying the fun. Or was that meant to be a put-down?  laugh.gif

I wouldn't bet on it.

By whom?!!!!!!!!!  The original mod seems to have whimped out and now some bloke seems to have taken over with his hilarious faux OTT head-master tone.

Having said all that, I haven't ever wanted to upset anyone here. I don't think I have because you find it funny. But I hope no-one is upset.

Will they kick off their ruby slippers when they leave?

What puns will Mr Norton come up with? How many jokes about him being a friend of dorothy?

I'm totally excited for it starting.

Yes, we mods 'whimp' all the time. Or rather we try to facilitate conversations about theatre within a friendly forum. Personal and insulting comments, bullying and ego trips are discouraged.

It would be nice to keep this thread for the topic intended now, please. Thank you.
