It is odd that he repeated his previous production of the Henry VI plays but not the Richard III. Anyway, remember that his Hamlet was poor in Stratford but excellent by the time it got to London because they rehearsed it continuously even after it had opened. So, I'd wait and see all the Histories when they arrive in London.

I don't always agree with Jan but I likes her. She's certainly got more theatrical knowledge under belt than many people here and she sees through the silly cant of avant garde wannabes like Katie Mitchell.

Of couse it is just my opinion - what else could it be ? But in this particular instance (and very unusually) my opinion was shared by none other than Michael Billington who said EXACTLY the same thing.
