RSC Affected By Flooding

The basement of the RST was flooded, but the Swan was unaffected. However, because primarily of the traffic problems todays performances (last ones of Macbett and Macbeth) were cancelled.

"The area where the theatres are is under water,'' said spokesman Dean Asker. "It's a shame we're not performing "The Tempest,'' it would've been more appropriate.''

Or perhaps the Merchant of Venice with real gondolas?

Perhaps while they are revamping the interiors etc they could put in a bit of  a flood barrier to that part of town. Nice though it is to stroll down to the river on a sunny day etc this problem isn't going to go away.

True, the weather does seem to be getting more erratic too so i would imagine multiple theatres will currently be suffering?
