Just a quick note to recommend checking out The National Youth Theatre of G.B's summer season of shows. The NYT year on year produce compelling theatre with very talented young actors in theatres across London.
This year they are at the Soho Theatre again with two one hour plays in rep (White Boy & 20 Cigarettes). These are accompanied by three short plays ('The Band', 'Victory Street' & 'iPod Do You?') which also perform in rep before the longer show.
Moira Buffini's 'Silence' is being taken on tour by NYT to Brierley Hill, Cumbria & Wilton's Music Hall (which is a completely stunning building) in London aswell.
The National Youth Theatre's created some of Britainís best film and theatre acting talent and they continue to do so. Dispel all misconceptions and stereotypes of 'Youth Theatre' and go with an open mind. The plays (most of which are new writing) are normally relevant, fresh, beautifully designed, exciting pieces of theatre.
White Boy, the first show to open, goes up at The Soho Theatre in under 2 weeks time and more details can be found on Soho's Website
If anyone has ever seen any NYT work before I'd be interested to know what you think of it!
