Skylight, they actually posted the image a few postings down from the link.  I've PM Whatsonstage number to you.  I called them first thing this morning - they had no idea about it.  I'm wondering if it's the same person who's posted the homophobe stuff in musicals too.  HipHopMomma (hope the name's right....) did you see Into the Hood by Zoonation?  Are you going to watch Benji Reid's Clockwork at the NT?

Scal
If you"ve seen "Into da hoodz" Scal then check out stratford circus from Friday 2nd - 30th March, Mr Kenrick "H20" Sandy will be there Thurs 29th with his own unique piece of artistry & if you fancy seeing the young talent of today then check out the 10th of March..Blueprint is unmissable..www.eastlondondance.org.....and if we can get a group of 14 together we get a ticket free!

We NEED MODS.

Another forum I post on, www.musicals.net, has a history of a LOT of trolling problems.  They have a nice function on the board where there's a button in the corner of every post, and clicking it alerts the moderators to the presence of a potentially problematic post.  They have several moderators, UK and US mostly, I believe, who will deal with any problems swiftly.

As Matthew Winn said, closing down overnight isn't necessary as not many people will find offensive posts at 4am, and, with a good selection of moderators, the posts can be deleted by 8am.  It's just a matter of WOS assembling a moderating team whose internet habits are complimentary - someone who's habitually online first thing in the morning, someone around during the daytime, a few people on early evening, and someone who's on late (I'm posting at 12.30am, so it's not like there's not people around!)  I'm not saying Mods need to be patrolling the board constantly for a set period of their day, every day, but having people likely to be around is vital.  Also mods can recieve email alerts of any problems, so can be on hand when needed.

Interesting that those praising the new board's features are now complaining that someone has used them. There is no value in being able to post pictures at all - what is the point ? - we got along without it OK on the old board.

I don't see the point of being able to have images inline. Anyone who really wants to post an image can always upload it to somewhere like TinyPic. Proof of concept: Picture of Hungerford Bridge (safe for work).
I have always hated eggs. I remember back when I was a sperm I tried to head-butt one. It did not end well.

Eughhhh.... the horse was bad enough.

Thanks.

Yeah I know but that wasn't the image I was referring to.  The horse one was just about within the realms of what could be called 'normal' (albeit niche) porn.  The second link was just beyond definition.  Sounds like you didn't see it which is a good thing.  I posted a massive warning when I was unlucky enough to see it (the link was my name so I looked) but it's difficult to know what to do in that situation.  Sometimes a warning makes people want to look.

Agreed, there is no need for embedded images.  The larger sites don't have them and now I see why.   However the hideous image was just a link so how do you stop that?  Clearly you can't otherwise no one would be able to cite their sources (very poor netiquette).  And linking has always been a feature so it's not the new site that's causing the problem.
