Mr Whit - i would agree with you. However, i can promise you, there is a reason why sound engineers are the most highly paid of most technical departments. . . because they are meant to be the best of the best. !Cant remember any missed lines however. Just clipping. I did see the Wednesday night show - which is common for deps night. Yes - I've worked with the best and the worst .Some are now No1 and 2's in west end, and someone i worked with on a previous show is now No1 on Oliver. Proves dedication can work. But the sound op for the show i saw was AWFUL!When on a tour i was a CSM on the tour - and the Sound 1 - was paid almost the same as me. . .but thats because their job is the most noticeable to the public. Bad lighting - spots take over. Bad sound - ANYONE can notice. !

Amusing piece on the telly new tonight about Matilda - why so many Olivier nominations it asked. Chorus from the nation's armchairs: 'Because it is brilliant!'

Watched again tonight. Just as good the second time, though I didn't enjoy Kerry as Matilda as much as Cleo. We also had Emily Shaw as Miss Honey, I believe she's been on all week.

Oh hang on - the website just mentions £5 for 16-25 year olds daily. Is this the only day seat policy in existence?!

Oh that scuppers my plans! Has anyone got any experience of queueing for returns for the show at a weekend? Or is there any instances where house seats are released at the last minute? Desperate to go along in two weeks on a Sat or Sun and will pay full price...!
