There's going to be a movie?  Most pointless remake ever if that's true.  The original Matilda movie is a classic.

Tim Minchin mentioned it in an interview posted on Broadwayworld the other week

I wouldnt say the original is a classic, if you can remake Willy Wonka why not Matilda.  That said, i dont think the musical is a great basis for a movie

Well yeah, duh

You know, jamescrispy94, your comment wasn't actually clear, hence my clarifying.

The new casting intrigues me. I saw the show last week, the first time since Bertie Carvel left. It's in excellent shape, the tweaks and changes that have happened since seeing it all work really well. Alex Gaumond isn't a million miles away from Carvel in terms of physical appearance and he's hamming it up a storm in Top Hat, so I think the role is in safe hands there :-). It'll be interesting to see, if the show runs and runs (and I hope it does) what happens to the role of Trunchbull down the line. I hope they stay well away from stunt casting it, that's for sure.

That's because there isn't much to say :) . Pretty good view, close to the low stage and much of the show happens centrally so it doesn't matter if you are far over.

Walliams has been seen by the RSC for the role but only wanted to do a very short contract so they said no from what I've heard

I assume it's his commitment to Britain's Got Talent which would no doubt start filming before he could finish a normal run.
