She could do so many things - she was soooo gracious last night - and sang 'As Long as he Needs Me' fabulously well!!  She and Rachel the best things in it - what a sing off - master class for the woeful others.

Her ALAHNM was ok until the final two words

which instead of being 'needs' and 'me'

became 'naaaayds' and 'maaay'

I know you have to do strange things with vowels at certain parts of the voice - particularly at the top end of your belt section - but it showed that she wasn't vocally perfect for Nancy

I hope she has a top to her voice - which I suspect she has - and she gets considered for G(a)linda

i think it was her attempt at a cockney accent, rather than her natural vowel sounds.

and i'm not sure about her as glinda... nancy is very much a mezzo role, and glinda needs to have a pure classical top soprano voice. few people have both.

Out of interest, would you really consider Nancy to be a mezo role?  I've always been told it's an alto part  - ALAHNM only goes to a D (I think)   biggrin.gif

I can think of one person who is currenlty playing glinda iwho snt really a natural soprano but more of a mezzo. The high notes (E and F) are optional plus i think sarah would be a absolutley brilliant glinda!

either way.. it's categorically not a top soprano part!

She sang "Tell Me It's Not True" in her audition. Could she be in Blood Brothers?

Despite the panel's insistence that she doesn't have grit, I could still see her in that part?
Maybe?
