Rachel was fantastic tonight.  I'm just a member of the public and would vote for Rachel to win.  She's been the best performer throughout the series.

Well all I can say after last nights show about Rachel is what an amazing performance.  It was almost like she came out and thought what the hell lets go for it.  She was by far the best and most superior performer last night and i just hope and pray this is the week that the public finally realise she is perfect for Nancy! She acts the songs out so well and each week she always 'wins' the acting tasks - including the one this week according to Barry.  To have the standing ovation from the panel must have pleased her and whatever happens in the results show she at least will know she did all she could do and went out on a high with praise from the professional panel.

Ditto to everything you have said musical fan!!  Having said that, I must say I won't be too disappointed if she doesn't win because I think in a way she is too good for Nancy.  I would love her to get a much bigger role in the west end.  She would be a great Roxie Hart or Velma Kelly but she could also breath life into Cabaret!!!

I fully expect to be shot down in flames for saying this, but I have to admit to just being bored by Rachel's performance. It was safe enough but it was the same as every other week of the show. I was expecting more sparkle and flair, for her to try and win the voters' hearts as well as their heads, and she just didn't. It was pretty bland, and changing the words just wasn't a good idea at all.

Now here comes the abuse  rolleyes.gif

I didn't like her performance last night.  It was very agressive, almost frightening.  She lloked like she was about to grab someone by the throat and headbutt them.  There was a lot of shouting going on, and not any sense of fun and enjoyment at all.

In some ways I blame the judges for this as they have made Rachael try way too hard, and that's what came accross for me.

I think Rachael would make a great Nancy. She'd go out there every night and deliver a solid performance. However, as people have already said she has had a tendency for me to become a little boring. I just don't believe in her performances every week (I dont always believe in the others either for the record). I really think the idea of changing the lyrics in Cabaret was a bad one, clearly ALW had tried to put her off the idea in rehearsals. I know the song is being performed as a stand alone piece and not in the context of the musical (btw thank-god they did musicals songs!) but I didnt think she connected to the darker subtext of the song. Or maybe I'm talking crap as Im sure someone is about to tell me!

i think her performance last night was desperate.

as i said previously, i think she's rested on her laurels throughout this series. i've not seen any improvement from her whatsoever (even jessie has got better as time goes on, though obviously started from much further back). i think she assumed that, as a pro, she'd progress easily, and as fran and sarah went, she saw herself as being a sure thing for the final.

i think that changed last week, and she suddenly realised she wasn't so safe. she pulled out all the stops in terms of effort, but the net result wasn't actually that great. it reeked of neediness and it just wasn't an attractive performance in any way, shape or form.
whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should

Right from the start I felt she was the weakest of the three professionals. Sarah was the strongest actress but wasn't right for Nancy, while Francesca was less strong than Sarah but better suited to the part. But Rachel has always been "the other one" to me.
I have always hated eggs. I remember back when I was a sperm I tried to head-butt one. It did not end well.

I think you'll find she did the song more than just "doing it justice", Rachel is the person for the job, she is the best overall, always has the best comments on the results show for her acting. Tell me isn't the part of NAncy more of an acting role than a singing one? And can you honestly tell me that Jodie can act this part??? No. From some one who has been in this busness for some tme the general consent fro mthe West End is for Rachel to do the role and she has the best quality and voice to carry this role and the acting ability. Also you'll always be sure to see Rachel in the role as she has the stamina.

You may not like that but it's the truth and if the West End are behing this girl i would have to say that their opinion is worth remebering. The show is manipulated into the making the public see and think in different ways and if your not in this profession then you are likely to believe what the show dictates to us, have we really got to see the real Rachel??? I think not, to me most of the camera time goes to Jodie, which was apparent on the Paul O'Grady show, the others girls had to fight to get heard! I knida hope in a wired way Rachel does go this week and on to bigger and better things than being tarnished with the Nancy role all her life, just look at Connie?

Sorry to rant but had to say something after reading you all your comments, i've kept quite for so long! Sorry
