I'm seeing the show next week and probably a week or so after the film comes out. Yeah, I think I have a problem...

Well why not?? :)

Ideally I wanted to see the show after the film, but I wanted to see this cast too much and it comes out just a bit too late to see them afterwards.

I'm seeing the show in a couple of weeks, close to before the film comes out so I hope it won't affect my enjoyment of the film as I've really been looking forward to it. But it was the only time I could see the current cast for the first time, which i'm really keen to.

I do tend to nitpick so may need to lower my expectations for the film a little so as not to be disappointed. Is anyone else seeing the show around a similar time to the film coming out?
Not seeing the show, but have just done it at school and I've fallen in love with it all over again. Will now see if this lives up to the hype..

I am seeing the London show next weekend.

Personally I know that the film is not going to be on the same level as the production. It has been argued that theatre and film are two different mediums. For me the theatre is a better experience than film and it is not going to be any different in this case.

I will therefore be rating this film as it is.

I just think it will be different, but just as good. I think I'll be able to separate the two when I'm watching the movie. I hope! Unlike when the Rock of Ages film came out, I'm not as heavily invested in the show or the cast so I think I'll be able to be more objective

If you don't, then why post?  Some of us clearly do, you don't have to, but no need to ruin the atmosphere for the rest of us...
