as has been mentioned on a number of occasions, Dickens describes Nancy has being rather short and plump

If you look at those who have played the role in the past, very few of them have been slight.

Jodie has won the role - why can't some people just accept this?

Jodie is a size 14 and weighs 9 stone I think I don't see how this can be considered big and to the following is Dickens's description of Nancy taken from Wikipedia "She is described thus when she first appears "a couple of young ladies called to see the young gentlemen; one of whom was named Bet, and the other Nancy. They wore a good deal of hair, not very neatly turned up behind, and were rather untidy about the shoes and stockings. They were not exactly pretty, perhaps; but they had a great deal of color in their faces, and looked quite stout and hearty."  Sounds to me like Nancy has always been of the larger size.

what a bloody sham.

if i'd gone to the effort of getting off my arse to book tickets for a saturday night to see 'one of them girls off the telly' and paid 60 each for the privilege, i would be seriously unimpressed by this.

Looks like Jodie will be doing both hsows on a Saturday too now. So not wednesday + thursday evening. Any rumour who will be the alternate?

Having costumed many productions Jodie is at least a 16 and a darn sight more than 9 stone, nearer 11 I say.   She's ridiculous

Whatever Jessie's foibles and I know there are some on here who were very anti her,  Jodie is just as bad for other reasons -she just 'ain't right' a was a poor second to Jessie last Saturday...

Cameron and Andrew LW were right and John Barrowman's behaviour  when Jodie was announced winner was a disgrace.

I really wish people would stop harking on about something that really doesn't matter.

Personal attacks on any of the contestants are out of order.  Jodie has won.

Time to move on

I don't think it was a swipe at Jodie, but at the silly comments being ploughed up by some of the excited fans.
Jodie was a well deserved winner and as a Looser of 5 stones myself, I can see that the size 14/9 stone comment is just plain daft.
