Me! This is a really fantastic recording. The cast sound great, few cuts have been made to either the song list or dance sequences/the music itself and the orchestra has been bulked up with a string section. In addition to this, (with the exception of one line of dialogue) the sound of the recording is very natural and not too "up close" of tinny like many new recordings (mostly Broadway). It is attractively packaged with some photos too and the Act II Ballet exists in its entirety.

So glad it's been recorded!

Will The Committments follow 'Singin'  in to the Palace next February?

I think the show is open-ended. So it might extend after February 2013... and hopefully it will.

Has Francis been on as Don yet?

He's on tonight through Friday. I believe this may be the first time. For you understudy lovers out there, don't miss it!

Just seen the trailer for this on youtube and it looks brilliant, although from the footage i saw it looks like those in the front few rows get very wet so i assume the band is not on front of the stage. can i ask where is the band so?

Audience in the front stalls get very wet and it's worth it - best seats in the house!

The band are raised at the back of the stage. Like We Will Rock You.

I saw Francis as 'Don' tonight... thought he was really good, but I did miss Adam. Think this is Francis' 2nd week as Don Lockwood - he was on as Don for a week back in May, as well.

Thanks for the info, I've only ever seen Adam in it.

I saw the show on Saturday, and it was fantastic, Sherrie Pennington was on as Kathy and she was excellent, thoroughly enjoyable. I admit not seeing Scarlett's name on the board was annoying but as soon as Sherrie stepped out i knew i had nothing to worry about, her "You Are My Lucky Star" was brilliant and her voice is gorgeous!! One of the best understudy performances i have seen.
Adam and Dan were excellent and never failed to make me laugh but i think the one person who i thought was spectacular was Katherine Kingsley. Having seen her in numerous things before i knew she would be good, but she was just hilarious, had the audience in stitches from the moment she walked down the aisle.
I loved the Ballet/ Medley in act 2, the cast are brilliant and at that point it seems that Adam takes a backseat and we are able to watch the fabulous ensemble showcase what they can do. An extremely talented bunch.
The whole show is excellent and i think having seen both, this is the better Chichester transfer out of last year (and i love Sweeney Todd), for me this has a fun and enjoyable quality from the off and the way the show has been designed is much better IMO than the current Sweeney revival, i only really enjoyed the performances of Michael and Imelda, but this has something more, a certain energy to it that makes the whole evening much more fulfilling.

Also was sat Stalls row E and got soaked both times, but it added to the magic, it was also funny as soon as it started raining everyone around started fishing for carrier bags ect. Finally do the theatre sell Rain Poncho's? as the lady next to me asked and i said i didn't think so but then a member of staff brought out  four for the people in front.
"How dare they try to end this beauty!?!?"

I agree with the comment about it being the better Chichester transfer. I also think it was robbed of the olivier, crazy for you was for the most part an immitation on a small scale of the original. SITR has taken a show that doesn't always work and made it a solid hit
