When is The Commitments looking to open? Would have thought Nimax would want a steady hit for the Palace for the time being rather than take a new musical.

I think the supporting roles could be stunt casted, they casted Robert Powell to replace Michael Brandon so maybe they could do the same for Lina Lamond. The show's doing well so should last another year or so.

Except, Lina Lamont is not an easy role, especially with the constant high-pitched voice the actress has to put on and the fact it involves singing with that 'voice' too!

The only characters they can 'stunt-cast' for the show are R F Simpson and Dora Bailey, in my opinion.

As far as I've gathered, the show is open-ended. So I don't see why it would close in August.

Have shows that weren't limited runs ever closed due to an incoming show even if they were still doing well? Things can change as we have seen with the closures of Chicago and Blood Brothers.

Of course they can! Usually though, there's a good reason for them to 'change'. At present, it looks like Singin In The Rain is doing well enough to continue running for a while.

Sorry if it's already been posted, but do we know when Scarlett's last night will be?

She's leaving 3 weeks early and the cast change is on the 16th of February so based on that, I think her last show will be the 26th of January.
