This House transfers from the NT for 16 weeks, starting in September, before Andrew Lloyd Webber's Stephen Ward opens.

A real shame for Top Hat if true. A good, solid musical which appeared to be selling steadily. Will be a loss to the West End.

That would be such a shame :( Any chance at all it may transfer to a different theatre?

Thats not good news after winning the Olivier.

Didnt realise this house had been such a hit, its not been difficult to get tickets for.

The story hasn't been confirmed, although there is probably no smoke without fire. I feel so sorry for everyone working on the show if they found out via Twitter rather than from their employers though.

Yep. Definitely shutting. Was announced today to the company officially. Though yes, they had heard before!

Is it unusual for a play to shove out a musical?
