Broadway world website now reporting it is definitely Beverley Knight, with quotes from her too. I hope she can act out of song as she is an INCREDIBLE singer.

Saw the show tonight for the second time...I am in love with Heather's voice.

I'm just going to assume that we won't be getting a cast recording now.

So the new leads have been announced to be Beverley Knight and Tristian Gemmill... The booking period has now been extended to March 8th, 2014!

To be joined by an almost entire new leading cast of:

Michael Rouse (Stalker)
Richard Lloyd King (Bill Devaney)
Stephen Marcus (Tony)
Dominic Taylor (Sy Spector)
Stuart Reid (Ray Court)
+ 4 new alternate Fletchers

Debbie Kurup is the only lead returning to her role for the new extension.

And an all new ensemble:

Gareth Andrews, Kimball Armes, Christopher Birch, Hannah Fairclough, Robert Gill, Nicky Griffiths, Ben Harrold, Jamie Hughes-Ward, Alex Jackson, Genesis Lynea, Fergal McGoff, Sara Morley, Joelle Moses, David O’Mahoney, Stuart Rogers, Kyle Seeley, Danielle Steers, Katy Stredder, Christopher Terry

So basically other than Debbie, its a massive cull of cast members!

And the website has now been updated overall to make it look even more glam! I love that it has been changed from "a new musical" to "the smash hit musical" :P

I should also note that the website states that Beverley will only appear in all evening performances, meaning that again a member of the ensemble will presumably be cast as alternate Rachel Marron.

Announced in the WhatsOnStage announcment...

'Joelle Moses, who has appeared on both The X Factor and The Voice, will understudy Beverley Knight as Rachel.'

I'm assuming she's the alternate.

Casting Beverley Knight might just persuade me to buy a ticket.

Yeah you were right about the understudy:

Beverley Knight will take over as Rachel Marron from 9 September 2013.

She will NOT be appearing at matinee performances but is expected to appear at all EVENING performances excluding 4 - 6 November 2013, 18 - 21 November 2013, 13 - 22 January 2014, 14 & 15 February 2014

Joelle Moses will appear at these performances (Carole Stennett will play matinee performances week commencing 13 Jan 2014)

Is it me or does she look odd in the picture? Like her lips have been pumped up?!

Interesting casting... But can she act/do an accent? I hope so... Or it may kill the show.
