I've booked for this, despite a couple of comments in the Absent Friends thread suggesting it's a bit weak, as I liked the premise of it. Wish I hadn't left it so long though, all the early bird and cheap Monday tickets seem to have gone already.

"A bit weak" would be a massive understatement for me....although people in the audience were lapping it up! I thought it was awful. Really lame. No redeeming features. Will be interested to hear your thoughts!  It is also one of those plays that on reflection seems to get even worse......  I think my review was too kind  http://www.thepublicreviews.com/neighbourhood-watch-oxford-playhouse-oxford/  There is, however, a red head in it!

Thanks for the heads-up - the redheads-up.

Having seen the play I have to say that the comments in your review are really unfair, the acting is first class and you seem to miss the point that its a black comedy.

Yes the acting was pretty good, but the script simply isn't up to puff.  It's a black comedy sure, but just gently funny at times.  Just a bit weak all round.  A decent night out if you don't get to the theatre all that often though.
If, for some strange reason you care what I've seen, it's all here:
