Luckily Sally Bowles is not meant to be a great singer! But she does need to be able to perform and put a number across. Michelle Ryan is constantly criticised for her wooden acting so maybe musical theatre is the answer?

It is more important Sally can act than be an amazing singer, not liking this casting. May skip it and spend money on something else, have fond memories of the production the first time round

Hmmm, I really want to see Cabaret, however i hope this runs a while and we see at least one major cast change as i agree the casting doesn't sound particularly strong!

Michelle Ryan (EastEnders Zoe Slater and Bionic Woman movie) is playing Sally Bowles!

Oh dear god...thank goodness I saw it on tour with Sam Barks playing Sally - she can at least act and sing!  Funny how that's a bonus in musical theatre...Michelle Ryan on the other hand...no singing experience and a wooden actress at best...I'll be giving this one a miss even though I would be interested to see how Will Young does.  Wonder who Michelle's understudy will be?

The film is very flawed but from Lisa Minelli to Michelle Ryan...

Nothing new about stunt casting in the WE but this is taking it to a whole new low! Will give this a miss I think or at least go whenever her u/s is on!

I had to google her and she looks very beautiful but even that seems wrong for Sally?

That didn't stop Natasha Richardson from playing Sally.
