Interesting - good news. I saw it again in the Olivier recently, and it worked well in the larger, more traditional space - you miss the sense of being part of it in the Cottesloe but get a fuller, non-obstructed view (unless you're in the stage seats, which case I think you'd see a lot of backs). It really is a good play - very funny and very human. Be interesting to see what kind of West End audience it can draw though - I'm not sure how much it would mean to a non-UK audience.

They can market it as a sequel to The Audience.

Wonderful news. I've seen this play 4 times now and I may have to see it in this venue too (I have an obsessive personality)

I assume Charles Edwards and his lovely, lovely hair won't be in this run as he is doing Strange Interlude at the National?

It's not definite yet, apparently.

Please can someone confirm the running time of this play as I'm planning to see the broadcast at a local cinema tomorrow and according to the cinema the running time is 3 hours but the National Theatre website says 2 hrs. 45 mins. including interval.

When I saw it in the Cottesloe it was 3hrs, but it may have shortened since its Olivier transfer. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Btw, Jeremy Herrin has tweeted that it's not transferring to the Aldwych. Baz Bamigboye got it wrong again. Last month he said Thriller Live was closing- I wish!

Baz Bamigboye got it wrong again

Didn't he also print something in his column about Stephen Fry doing an Oscar Wilde play at Theatre Royal Drury Lane? And yet Mark Shenton claims he did "nothing wrong" in tweeting Baz's news about Top Hat closing and This House transferring, even though he didn't bother to check a damn thing first.

Wonder if baz's sources are just messing with him now...

He got mixed up with the Theatre Royal Haymarket. I understand there is a degree of truth in Stephen Fry doing The Importance of Being Earnestthere.
