I assume so, such a bizzare night to just cancel... Especially when its not in preview period, which they have brought forward a night

They did the same for Shrek and it turned out to be a charity gala for the Prince's Trust, so I'd go along with what MrBarnaby says - it's probably a special charity performance.

Reported costs of 7.5 million plus 3million to acquire the stage rights from dahl estate. So far an advance of 4million

True... I predict it will manage minumum 3 years but it should last majorly longer, its Charlie, its name alone will run successfully

A named brand doesnt mean success. Look at lord of the rings, chitty on broadway, beauty and the beast in london (3 years with discounting, disappointment for disney standard), ghost, oliver and so on

Titan, Charlie has had every West End producer refusing to open this summer. No one wants to compete. The money being thrown at it is massive. And the story to popular to mean it won't last several years. It's like the people saying Mormon would bomb over here. Just defies logic.

Er I never said it would not be successful, just pointing out that a brand name and familiar story does not guarantee success!  and four million for an advance is decent but not amazing. A show can eat through a healthy advance quite easily (see ghost and lnd).

As for mormon, even the producers werent sure which way it was going to go here

No such thing as a sure thing in theatre
