No idea, if I was guessing I'd say they looked at Matilda and how the new characters and different structure got so much praise and added a couple of their own. Maybe they're reporters who tell the story in the style of a tv show. Or they could just be a couple of small parts

I said that and then looked at the design again... It's so obvious they are reporters actually!

I think it's great to add a few fresh characters

Yeah, they actually look like the people in the fake news style teaser videos they released

I think they are main characters as Cherry is listed as a major role and the actress isnt listed as Ensemble either so i assume she has a large role

I wonder if they could be using the reporters as a fill between the big set changes

There is no way the reporters can be used after the children enters the factory. Unless they are turning the factory tour into some sort of version of the X-Factor

Vote who you will think will be eliminated next!

I think that's a bit unlikely! They are bound to just appear in Act 1

Is anyone as excited about this as I am? I remember being in 3rd class and having this book read to me. Many years later at family occasions and gathers I've seen young adults stop and sit down transfixed by the Gene Wilder film.

As for the lucky 5 kids who win a golden ticket, have you noticed that they go in the order they come? Augustus Gloop is the first kid to get a ticket and is thus the first to go and so on and so forth.
Don't we get to be happy? At some point down the line, don't we get to relax without some new tsuris to push me yet further from you!

Who dare tell the lambs in Spring what fate the later season brings?
