You are quite sane... of course it was a joke! The man sounds like a dog with bronchitis.

Phew! I just needed to check - I thought for a moment I had gone deaf!

...and in fairness I think you are being a little harsh on the dog!!

I think that the dog can consider himself well and truly insulted!

ALW has stated quite categorically, that the lead will not be Barrowman or Michael Ball.

I think Rhydian would be great for the role although maybe too young .

It is Denise Van Outen and John Barrowman in London. Remember that both the Phantom and Christine are older roles in this show.

They are also doing a cast swap for both roles between New York and London after six months.

both hideous suggestions, I really hope this isn't true!  Still, if it is at least it's one I can cross off my list.

Ik couldn't be John. There was a rumour saying that he would be doing the new Mackintosh production of Barnum. Or has that plan bounced off already...?
Wouldn't know if Denise would be perfect, but I'm willing to gif her a chance.

One thing is certain: I will go and see it. Am dying to find out if it is going to be anywhere near part I...

I think it's been confirmed that John in Barnum isn't happening, although they were talking about it at one point, and John in Phantom 2 I don't think was ever really a possibility.

I did hear that John told fans at a recent convention that he has decided to focus more on TV than stage work, while it's available, because his partner prefers the more social hours (and likes being able to see him now and again!).

I believe the rumour that Denise van Outen will be involved has also been officially denied.

I don't who your friend in RUG is, but they are giving you a smokescreen. Ramin's doing it as he is recording the cast album as we speak...
