Dissapointed by the lack of day seats, too. I hope some discounts turn up.

You never know FRD, they may put your review on the marquee. I certainly saw you quoted at the Southwark Playhouse several times.

Oh bless the Southwark Playhouse, but don't think they'll be needing my words of wisdom to tempt the punters in at the Duke of York's somehow :)

Front Row Dress I have succumbed and bought tickets for the front row stalls, as you said it is a bit steep but have heard nothing but good things about this so am hugely looking forward to it.

itsuckstobeme you will not be disappointed, I'm only 5' 8" and had no problems at all. It feels as if you are in those hotel rooms along with them. Mark Shenton was tweeting last night that his view from the press seats in the side stalls cut off some of the action, so maybe these are better. I am sure you will enjoy the experience.

Henry Hitchings also mentions the sightlines in the Standard today. I remember sitting near the back of the stalls a few years ago in that theatre and you feel so cut off from what is happening on stage.

They are doing a "rolling" press night on this one aren't they ? Where the hacks just shamble in on whatever day they fancy during the first few weeks. It is an interesting idea but more suited to something poor because it will dilute the criticism a bit - on something good like this it is counter-productive because by the time Billington comes out with his **** review it will be old news and less people will read it.

"Everett brilliant and Freddie Fox has a good career ahead of him, very engaging performance. The Fisherman stole the show".
Epi, you must have read my comments early in the thread.  Trust me in future.
