I really hope it transferred, my friend loved it when they saw it on broadway.
If I stay awake, it must be good.

I imagine an announcement is imminent if auditions have been announced.

Brilliant news :) Open before Christmas, or too soon?

Ah ok - just assumed they might have been able to do it quite quickly, what with it being a transfer production. Still, nice to have something 'new' on the west end.
If I stay awake, it must be good.

It probably wouldn't want to open too soon - Mormon and Once have just opened and Charlie's about to, so the West End has quite a few new shows at the minute.  Better to wait until the buzz about all of them has died down a bit and then blitz Newsies publicity without much competition from loads of other newly-opening shows.

Many shows don't transfer straight away, Once is probably the exception, Mormon actually could have opened at the Prince of Wales once Mamma Mia! had moved to the Novello but the creatives were busy with the US tour and the Chicago production hence why Let it Be filled in until January.

I imagine Newsies will open early March since Dirty Dancing is scheduled to run until February 22nd.

Yes, I know that.  I was making a different point entirely about the current number of new shows in the West End, nothing to do with how long it takes Newsies to transfer.

More auditions or workshops or something going on at Pineapple Dance Studios. Choreographer has been tweeting about it.
