"From here to eternity"is to open at the Shaftesbury

Source please, that's not a rumour that's been floating around before!

I'll be disappointed if it isn't Memphis.  Rock of Ages was never my type of show.

To be honest i cant see either Memphis or From Here To Eternity taking off unless they pull off a casting coup

Ditto - public awareness of both of them is next to zilch and they would have a massive uphill battle to get it anywhere.

I did ponder whether closure was the reason the seemingly settled Duchess transfer hadn't been announced so far.

Might have been a similar thing to Blood Brothers. Numbers down, propose a move, numbers decline, can the move. Though I did hear that the show was "closing" for 2 months, the reopening at the Duchess, or at the Garrick if Loserville bombs out.

Possibly. I'm still hedging my bets on Loserville, it will depend really on how quickly good crits appear and word of mouth within the capital. From the outside it almost reads similar to Pippin, being so different in style/nature to many current musicals about and perhaps struggling to gain an audience in 2012

This was in the paper a while back. It's not closing it's moving. The cast seem to know about it too. The paper quoted the Duchess but I've heard it could be the Garrick. Burn the Floor comes in and then maybe Mephis or Finding Neverland as they are all the same general management! I think it will do well in a smaller theatre. It certainly not strugling though it's always busy when I go and I go a lot!!

I think this will go the same way Chicago went after it moved. Especially if they are increasing prices.
