Thank you in advance
Never sat in the front for Billy Elliot so I can't compare but I always sit in the front row for Jersey Boys.
I've sat in all three tiers of the theatre but I feel much more involved sitting right at the front, it's like being at a personal concert. The first time you go and sit down you think you're going to see nothing because the stage is pretty high but I'm only 5 ft 2 and I don't find it a problem. I took my friend for her birthday the other week and it was the first time she'd been and she loved the seats.
If the cast are in the middle of the stage I can't see from mid-calves up but for the majority of the main musical performances they're much nearer the edge of the stage or moving about so you can see all the dances and everything. There are 2 or 3 scenes where I lose sight of 1 or 2 of the characters for 30 seconds or so but it doesn't affect the story and just hearing the lines is enough.
Hope this helps a bit

I saw the show on Tuesday afternoon, my first time in over a year (I somehow managed to miss seeing a whole cast!). Michael Watson was Frankie and I think he was great - I couldn't believe it when he said it was only his second show. I also liked Edd and David. (I don't think I've ever seen anyone in this show who I've not liked!) Apart from the first time I saw the show, when Glenn Carter was in the cast, I've only ever seen Eugene as Nick Massi, so wondered what it would be like seeing someone different, but I soon got used to David.
Jon was only on for the first act so we got to see Ben as Tommy for the second act. I posted in the RoA thread last week how I thought it would be good seeing two different actors play the same role in one show, but I didn't want it to be my favourite person in the show who left! Saying that though, I thought Ben was very good, especially coming into it part way through. I'm glad I got the chance to see him when I did, as I probably wouldn't have gone to a whole show knowing Jon wasn't there. So for the second act I was seeing all four leads who I'd never seen before!
I feel sorry for Jon Lee being injured as if I had to make a choice he would be my favourite Frankie, but I'm pleased for Michael and Ben getting more opportunities to go on.
A bright bright star will show the way.
Go to where the champions played."

Having said that, Jye Frasca used to sing several bits just that tiny it lower and it worked perfectly.
