I have a sneaking suspicion David Hunter (Superstar, One Man Two Guvnors, Seussical, Tommy) may well have been cast in the show.

2011: Jersey Boys - Shrek the Musical
2012: Ghost the Musical - Jersey Boys - Les Miserables - Shrek the Musical - Wicked

Ooh, David Hunter... what makes you say that? That would be quite interesting... strange, but interesting. Saw him in Tommy and he is an amazing performer, who would he play though? A swing I suppose, but still, look forward to seeing whether or not this could be true!

I know nothing for sure other than he's just confirmed his new job in this past week, tweeted that it's quite a big one and that he starts rehearsals in mid-February. All sounds like perfect timing! As you say he'd probably be a swing and I could see him as a Frankie cover.

But as I said, only a sneaking suspicion.

Oh yeah, possibly then! We'll have to wait and see... I think that IF he did join he'd be a good addition to the show.

How tall is David?  We know he won't be alternate or first cover Frankie as Jon Lee is staying and Ben Jennings has been promoted.

I think he's slightly taller than the average Frankie which makes me wonder whether he might take over Edd's current role? But you never know, maybe he could qualify as Frankie... meaning he could take over Michael's role, but I just can't imagine him as Joe Pesci! This is all of course if his new job is even Jersey Boys, haha.

Sophie's right, I think he is taller than the average Frankie so perhaps Edd's roles would be a better bet, with a Gaudio cover. He'd have the range to sing Frankie though judging by his JCS performances which is what I based that comment on.

To be fair, Scott Monello spent 3 years as alternate Frankie and he's above average height.  I agree, however, that a Gaudio cover is more likely if David has been cast in this show.

As much as I love David, I cannot imagine him in Jersey, but another big show that is casting at the moment, and rehearsals will be starting very soon, is Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, maybe that will be his destination, just a thought anyway
