Plus you have Miss Saigon on the horizon which is better known. Even that im not sure how it will go down.

If FHTE is actually really good and word of mouth and reviews are strong it could well surprise everyone. But we have seen so many of these types of shows (epic dramas trying to be the new Les Mis) fall over the years the odds arnt great.

And it is on at the Shaftesbury... Home to many epic musicals like Napoleon.. The Far Pavilions...

I thought Darius was pretty good in Gone with the wind, wasn't his fault it was possibly the worst book ever and 10million hours long.

I agree..... but at the moment, the odds aren't looking good for this show. I want it to do well, but I worry that a GWTW failure is round the corner.

The problem with GWTW was simply that the book and lyrics weren't very good - as they were by a complete unknown who knew nothing of songwriting and structure - and it was too long.

At least this has a respected pop song writer and Sir Tim involved.

I'm quite excited to see this, mainly just because it is another new musical, it feels like we are spoilt this year with so many new shows opening! I have hardly seen anything that's on now, usually I am waiting for new shows to open, I've fell behind! Shows do seem to have bad luck at the Shaftesbury though don't they!
