With Let It Be extending, I don't see PJ coming in this year.

Let it Be only extending til January so Pajama Game could go to the Savoy from January onwards,

The Savoy is far too big for it.

Anyone heard anything about this transferring? – the Old Vic is free from Nov … this could be the dancey show the West End needs :)

Broadway has been very good to me. But then, I've been very good to broadway.

It's not transferring.. The cast were told ages ago. It's too risky a move .

Is that risky? It’s a name that a large proportion of the theatre going public will of heard of and it comes with great reviews . I would say Top Hat was more of a risk and if you compare it to the Merrily transfer which is financial suicide!  Plus I’m guessing all its initial outlay such as sets and costumes etc  have all been paid for by the festival

I would say very few have heard of the PJ, id kinda heard of it but didnt know any songs, the casual theatregoers wouldnt have heard of it.

Top Hat and Fred and Ginger are far more well known. Plus it has the old Hollywood aspect to it

The money it would have cost to rebuild it from a studio show into a set for a proscenium arch theatre is quite big and the running costs etc.. It's a big expense and would have been unlikely to even cover its costs.

If that's the case then I'm glad I got to see it in Chichester.  The creatives & casting for this production seemed to have "West End transfer" written all over it but I can understand the caution.

They are just waiting for a suitable space..
They have loads of producers prepared to back this and it is not considered a risk at all.
The set design was not a complicated one and could easily be adapted.
The cast have been told it will be in the New Year.
Sorry Mr B!

Think the lack of available theatres is the reason its not transferred yet, a lot of theatres will be free at the end of the year so they can choose one soon.
