Take care! As you've seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you ought to be well aware of the risks involved with lucky tickets.
£500 tickets can also be risky. I once purchased one for the royal gala opening performance at a major millennium theatre. My seat turned out to be three rows behind the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, but I was detained by police for nearly an hour beforehand and then removed from the building by police once the royal party had entered the auditorium. I was falsely deemed to be a potential threat to royal security. I will never again attempt to attend such an event. It was too traumatic, although it did make a good story for friends, colleagues and family at the time.
Er, HOW exciting?!!! Why were u deemed a threat???!?!?

I’ve got a feeling this will Hytner-weighted but it will be fascinating to see how older pieces are done. For me the duffest part of the Olympics closing ceremony was the Lennon YouTube video they played so I hope the Olivier celebrations consist of more than movie clips.
Hopefully, also with his running off mid-performance. According to a recent interview, it wasn’t that as a method actor he saw his father’s ghost that night but that as a method actor he saw his father’s ghost every night. As happens.
I’m planning on entering, but I hate leaving things to chance. It’d almost be worth the extra £450 just so I don’t have the bloody waiting period and uncertainty. Almost. Would it be a ) moral and b ) permitted to ask friends of mine to apply for the ballot only for me to borrow their tickets or will they ask for ID and all sorts of hoop-jumping?
