ATG wants to make significant detrimental changes to pay and working conditions, and negotiations and arbitration have failed to reach agreement.

They've now reached an agreement. :) I suggest that some people should read up exactly why these things happen or might happen before assuming it's nothing important and that a fuss is being made over very little. Certainly in the theatre industry a decision to strike or ballot for a strike is never taken without a lot of thinking behind it.
