I always though it was called The Union Theatre, sad though, hopefully the papers will pick up on it, if Southwark Playhouse could save themselves these guys can too

It's a real shame - they filled the gap left by the Bridewell for a small theatre that could take risks with new shows or obscure revivals.

Don't talk about them in the past tense just yet!

I was there yesterday - how sad.  I have to believe they'll be able to find another space.
Excuse me if I seem jejune
I promise I'll find my marbles soon.

I'm really sad and angry about this - the Union does some brilliant work, and it's such a friendly, cosy space. I hope they find somewhere good and affordable to move to.

I think Network Rail should be obliged (as they are, morally) to find all the affected businesses suitable alternative local premises - and/or to rehouse them in the eventual new development.

This is terribly sad news for all of the thousands of people who have enjoyed shows there.
The short sightedness of landlords amazes me.  What are they proposing to do with these railway arches?  A few more coffee shops to add to the score or so already there? Offices?  With heaven knows how many million sq. feet of unoccupied offices?
My best wishes to Sasha and all the others and hope they can continue - I'm sure that there is enough goodwill out there to support them in the future.
