That might be a bit of an overkill on touring Pirates as Scottish Opera is touring with it May-July. I wonder what Jerry Mitchell might do to G & S...

Wonder whether it's based on the 1980s Broadway version - as Michael Ball was playing Frederick in the Manchester production (with Paul Nicholas as Pirate King and Bonnie Langford as Mabel) when he was cast in the original cast of Les Miserables.

hopefully this will be a new production, but I do have fond memories of that manchester production. Bonnie L was an amazing Mabel. Never before has a Mabel been so agile!

Is it worth seeing? my nearest venue is Oxford

- I've suddenly got an urge for G&S ...

Broadway has been very good to me. But then, I've been very good to broadway.

Loved Sasha Regan's production of this - I saw it at Hackney Empire last year after it played at Union Theatre and Wilton's. Would be intriguing to see Michael Ball in this but that production had so much humour and energy...

Last I heard this has gone cold, at least on Jerry Mitchell's participation in it, I think kinky boots is keeping him busy
