Gatiss is playing Menenius.
Is he ? Seems a bit of a thin part for a rather brilliant actor (who carried The Recruiting Officer single-handed) - Well. let's see what he makes of it.

It's his first non-comic stage role though (as far as I know) so it's not a bad decision to take on something unshowy.

Only if you count 55 Days as a comedy!

He's not a stage actor trying to establish himself though, he's a star turn who shouldn't be wasted on non-showy parts. But, let's see.

Excited all round...but trepidation at the impact the combination of HIddleson/Gatiss will have on the fans attending that one!

Yeah nice as it is when someone great from the theatre goes onto be successful in films etc it doesn't half make them so much harder to see plus they are suddenly the 'new' star rather than someone has has been consistently good on stage or in bits and bobs but they haven't gone mainstream.

His own career plans may be different though. It does look as if he's trying to establish his non-comic credentials with this and, as Xanderl reminded me, 55 Days. Much as, SRB worked pretty hard for 15 years at not playing camp roles after starting his career as various fops.

It's been a while since anything at the Donmar grabbed me but I'd love to see all three of these. I have a feeling getting tickets is going to be a nightmare.

Yes getting tickets to the Donmar is a nightmare, but I did grab a £10 front row seat for this coming Sat for The Weir  - very excited. I was poised on my computer at 10.00am on a Monday morning. Apparently £10 seats released at 10.00am on Mondays is continuing for the new season.
