It is perhaps an odd choice for Gatiss, but probably as said the desire to 'flesh out' theatre credentials/reputation plays a part. Plus probably the chance to work with Rourke again (or her wanting to work with him again)

I feel bad being negative about Hiddleson's involvement-he is a very good actor who I'm excited to see on stage, I just dread the onslaught of his fans!

Got two ducats for a matinee of Coriolanus.  Elder daughter unsure which is more exciting: the play (she loved the NTW thing last year), Gatiss (Doctor Who, Sherlock, etc) or poor Tom (obvious reasons).

Thanks for reminding me to book today
As usual some of the best seats already gone despite my priority which is not the highest level though.
I booked the Nick Payne of course - you never know genius might strike twice in a row, Roots and Coriolanus.

I think Menenius is a great role. Did anyone see Brian Cox play him in the very good film version directed by Ralph Fiennes? Desperately sad.

I just posted this in the 'Theatre at the Cinema' thread, but I think it's probably better placed here...

Tom Hiddleston has tweeted that his upcoming 'Coriolanus' at the Donmar will also broadcast on January 30 as part of NT Live: http://media.whosay....9/358379_la.jpg

Got next Tuesday morning 9am bookmarked, hoping to still stand a chance when Public Booking opens... ;-)

My husband and I are travelling from abroad, and would be delighted to snatch tickets for the Coriolanus performance of Thursday 12 December. Any recommendations to augment our chances, besides being quick and our good share of luck??

very helpful info, Latecomer, thanks a million!

Just one more question, please, if I may? Is there an afternoon performance as well on that Thursday, or is it just the evening?

Only evening as early in the run....and if not lucky keep checking as they often release stalls at extreme ends when they have checked sight lines nearer the opening!
