How much happens up high? Looking at the cheap rear stalls seats will much be missed?

I've gone for the 'restricted view' front row Grand Circle seats, £15. Sat there before and they're pretty good, esp for £15 in previews.

thats amazingly short for a first preview of a new musical, especially one so complex. very positive comments on twitter however i always like to wait a while as early previews are often either full of fans, people in theatre community or bloggers desperate to hate/love the new show but hopefully the positivity continues in coming weeks

On the train home now. Will post full thoughts in a bit but loved it. Random fact: we don't go into the chocolate factory until act 2.
If I stay awake, it must be good.

Musical Talk just tweeted the song list:

Is that 'Pure Imagination' as in the one from the Leslie Bricusse/Anthony Newely version? If it is, it will stick out like a sore thumb!

From twitter...

The highlight of Charlie though is how we meet the other families. Extremely entertaining! Especially Augustus' song.

A disappointing aspect in Charlie was how they did the glass elevator. We wonder if it was a last minute addition. A lot more could be done.

I believe the glass elevator isn't the real one .. That's the reason previews were cancelled and it's a temporary measure so best not to judge what's currently being used..

All of the friends who saw the invited dress and the preview tonight are raving about how wonderful it is, and how creatively they have solved the big moments. Seeing it Saturday and am so excited. Twitter certainly seems very positive about it all and it's only the first preview!
