I think so far that there's a lot more 'stronger' productions than last years awards, which should make the Oliviers a bit more interesting. We've also got the Tori Amos musical at the National coming in October (unless I missed a push back), which I have a sneaking feeling will do quite well.

Will the revival of Avenue Q count, with it being fringe? There's also the new revival of The Sound of Music too...

Personally. I can see Charlie getting awards for set design and possibly the young guys playing Charlie, but lets see what the reviews make of the rest of it.
If I stay awake, it must be good.

Sound of music will count, Avenue Q won't

I'd hope some of the non Charlie kids would be considered for supporting but fear their roles are too small.
The lighting for Charlie is fabulous.

Funny how we go from not enough new musicals to make a decent short list to not enough revivals.

It is certainly going to be a lot more interesting than this years awards.

Another potential nominee is the rumoured revival of Assassins at the Trafalgar Studios.

Being controversial but going by the reviews and the typical membership of the Oliviers, I don't think Mormon will win many..i predict 1 or 2 and maybe in the smaller categories...

I think Once will sweep leads and best while Charlie will sweep the technicals. I think featured/supporting will be a mixture of other productions.

Just my very broad 2 cents.

While we're at it, could anyone give me next week's lottery numbers?

I see the BBC has dropped live coverage from Radio 2 ...

Not seen any coverage of this on WOS, found the Stage story through Terri Paddock's twitter feed ;)
