Taking place from Tuesday 27 – Friday 30 August 2013, this course is ideal for keen amateurs, students considering Technical Theatre BA courses and careers, school staff involved in theatre productions and theatre and film practitioners looking to expand their skills.

Stage Lighting will introduce you to the work of an electrics department and its accessories, lamps, lenses, lanterns and luminaries. You will get hands-on experience rigging and focusing lanterns and guidance on how to draw a lighting plan. The course covers safe working and electrical theory, a practical plug wiring exercise, basic fault finding, use of DMX to control dimmers, moving lights, scrollers etc.; advice on how to prepare for a show and advice on how to control lights using manual and memory desks.
