So looking over the forum and seeing the wide range of ages and experience just wondered...what was your first West End musical? Be interesting to see who can lay claim to being the one who has seen the earliest show?

For me my first proper musical was "On Your Toes" at the Palace Theatre...Tim Flavin in the lead and also Siobhan McCarthy, and Natalia Makrova 1984 ! Remember taking my seats and just being overwhelmed !

so let the fun and games begin !

First West End musical: Contact at the Queen's Theatre in 2002. The very first musical I saw was Cats in Hamburg in 1990.

Some of us are too young to have any chance of that, I feel like a relative novice!  My first West End musical was Wicked in December 2007 (only the 2nd time I'd ever been to London at that point!).  First musical was the International Tour of Mamma Mia in Dublin in 2002.

Hmm I know I saw Grease at the Cambridge in 1998, I saw Oliver at the Palladium before that but not exactly sure what year, I just checked and it was on 1994-1998 so I'm gonna go with 1996 as sure it was a few years before Grease, so I would have been about 8

Haha I know, I may have only started going to musicals just over a decade ago, but I'm now on about 35 theatre visits for musicals at last count, about 20 of those in the West End, which isn't bad considering I don't live in London!

Avenue Q in 2007 or 2008, though this was before my interest in musicals, because I couldn't see the connection between this and standard musical theatre fare. First time I went to a musical to see a musical was Wicked in 2010.

Blood Brothers in 2003, as part of a school trip. My next ones were Phantom and We Will Rock You in 2005
