The scene where he murdered Rodney Bewes had a particular intensity

Sher is good, but he's no James Bolam
Thelma as Lady Macbeth- luxury casting.

Nothing to do with his acting ability, but his name is a huge obstacle to his being taken seriously.

What part of Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch strikes you as silly?

Anywho, as long as he can do the Z episode of Cabin Pressure and lets me know how he survived that bloody fall, he can do what the hell he likes as far as I’m concerned.

If Church gets it I hope he brings the vibrant young Chichester audience with him

I dont really understand the whole taking photos with iPads thing...it's way more unwieldy than a phone or camera as its so much bigger, which makes it especially bad to use in a theatre as it makes way more light!

It's as if someone was using a phone camera and said "Well, I'm loving the fuzziness and graininess but it's just not bulky enough and I don't look enough of an idiot using it. Do you have it in six times the weight?"

Having seen the current McDonald's ad in cinemas, I propose that a similar commercial be produced by the RSC  starring Lynette and One Direction and culminating in the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, with Lynette and Harry simultaneously reaching for a jelly baby after a belly laugh in A Mad World My Masters.

#269593 London Box Office Grosses?

I think any decision to publish grosses would be at the discretion of the various producers and SOLT and I think by having the grosses out in the open might impact sales, I personally would like to see how shows are doing money wise,

NT customer service is generally really good - always friendly and efficient. I've seen a lot of posh old people being deeply rude to them as well, and they are remarkably patient. I'd end up on a GBH charge if it was me.

How about having something like this printed in luminous glow-in-the-dark lettering?

"YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS CARD BECAUSE YOU ARE TALKING OR OTHERWISE CAUSING A NUISANCE TO YOUR FELLOW THEATRE GOERS. PLEASE RESPECT THE REST OF THE AUDIENCE AND REMAIN SILENT DURING THE PERFORMANCE. THANK YOU."

And leaving it on their battered corpse as a warning to others? I like it.

Sheridan Smith

They could rename it Regally Blonde

Perhaps it is undocumented that Lincoln took off his shoes in his box and desribed everything to Mary Todd as the show went along.  Booth wasn't political, he was just a bit miffed.  A bit like Richard Griffiths when a phone goes off, but with more firepower and a greater historial impact.

Amused to read in today's Guardian that Danny Boyle's original plan for the Olympics opening ceremony was for the Queen to be played by Helen Mirren - they only approached the Palace for permission to impersonate the Queen and were somewhat surprised to get the response that not only was this fine but the Queen would like to do it herself!

So maybe she'd be up for taking over the role for the transfer?

Playing twins, presumably. Only their mother can tell them apart.
