Just to clarify -- Willemijn isn't ill. She's dealing with an injury, and this was confirmed by a friend who was talking to Savannah at the stage door on Monday night. I hope she'll be back soon!

And I love the new photos of Savannah. What a stunning Glinda she is :) can't wait to see her and Willemijn in action again next month!

I very much doubt that I'd ever want to see a movie version of Wicked... but for Fiyero, I think someone like Diego Boneta would be a briliant choice (he was Drew in the Rock of Ages movie). I'd prefer Elphie and Glinda to be played by unknown talents, though I do like the idea of Amy Adams as Glinda.

I've always thought Willemijn's Elphaba is a lot more like Gregory Maguire's version of the character, or at least as close as you can get to that in the musical. I get the impression that she does want to be accepted and loved, but she's so used to being treated badly that she's on the defensive and is less "shouty", as people have described previous Elphies. I love it, and I love that she constantly finds new things to bring to the role.

@harveyjnr if that's 100% true then I am VERY happy. I loved Cordelia's Sherrie!

I agree completely.

@Catqc: There'll be a highlights video uploaded on Monday, if I remember correctly. It should have clips from the performances as well as the awards ceremony. I'm just hoping someone will film Willemijn's 'Let It Go'!

A very interesting cast lineup last night. Willemijn, Sophie Linder Lee as Glinda, and the cast appeared to run out of Fiyeros, as Oliver Watton was called in as emergency cover. Absolutely fantastic performance!

Considering Anton has played Fiyero in the Oberhausen production, I could see that, yeah. Definitely too early to speculate, though. ;)

Loving Gina in that recording, there! Very weird to hear her with a different accent, but she sounds incredible as usual. :)

Booked for next Wednesday - not seen it in over a year as I disliked Louise in the role. Is Willie on?

She should be! I don't think she has any scheduled time off until March.

As far as I can tell, the unfair bashing against Willemijn seems to be coming from some younger fans of Wicked who can't seem to open their minds to a totally different take on Elphaba. Completely ironic, considering the message of the show. Anyway, I'm past it. I think it's a privilege to have someone like her in the west end, home grown talent or not.

Willemijn, Savannah and Bart (Willemijn's husband) are featured in today's Room 9 Advent video with Les Mis' Anton Zetterholm and Rob Houchen. Beautiful!

Yes, I'm sure Willemijn will have more holiday dates before the one day she has scheduled to be off so far. And there's a huge chance for some standby shows around Christmas time, I'd imagine :)

So, I'm back from London after three days of seeing the new cast. I don't think I've ever become this attached to a Glinda so quickly in my life. I love all Savannah's little quirks, her squeals and excitable bouncing around in act 1, and the transition into her refined, elegant Glinda in act 2. I particularly loved the part in March of the Witch Hunters where Morrible is forcing Glinda to wave, and Savannah!Glinda wrenches her hand away and clutches at her wrist in fear. Not sure if any Glindas and Morribles have done that before but it was heartbreaking! To have this amazing Glinda opposite my favourite Elphie of all time is like a dream come true for me. Can't wait to go back in January and see how much they've settled. :)

I actually loved Willemijn's accent. It sounded a lot more natural when she spoke faster than when she spoke slower, but she's got plenty of time to work on it and feel comfortable with it. I just wish people could be a little more forgiving since it's not her native language. Can't imagine how difficult it must be to have to think about pronunciation on top of the acting and singing parts. Luckily the majority of people I spoke to after the show were more than impressed, and I'm choosing to ignore the rude, bitter fans.

Anyway, I'm seeing the show again tonight. Very excited to see our new witches blow the roof off the AV again :)
