I really can't see Michael Ball in either lead role - he's physically the wrong type for Stine and vocally/character wise not 'hard-boiled' enough for Stone.

... because three shows in three days isn't that much and you could have squeezed in even more shows if you had stayed in NY at the appropriate two-show-days???

Not being able to get to NYC as much as I'd like, on my last trip a few years ago I managed to do 8 shows in 8 days:

Sondheim on Sondheim (x2)
The Addams Family
West Side Story
A Little Night Music
Avenue Q
Next to Normal
South Pacific

Thought that was pretty good going considering the prices for some shows -  *cough* Addams Family *cough*

Your plight is so familiar to me although I'm older than you are and, at this point, married.  Not that that helps.  My wife is an ex-actress and will happily go to plays but with musicals I'm on my own.

But there are lots of females on this board who love musicals so, clearly, they're out there.

Maybe Urinetown is your answer - it's so smart and funny and appealing in a broad-based way that I think it could win over even the most confirmed of the musical-allergic.  And of course the heroine of Urinetown is Hope.

Woah, thanks for all the interesting replies everyone - Mallardo's particularly brought a smile to my face!

Good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. I have to say I do enjoy going to shows alone on occasion, but generally prefer going with a friend when I can persuade them, as it's about the shared experience for me.

Afraid my inbox hasn't been flooded with offers jaqs, but put me down for any potential group meet-up in the future...

The reviews for this are going to be off the charts. First preview tonight was sensational, you'd expect it to be polished with some of the original cast involved, but honestly this coudn't have been tighter. Not sure it'll transfer as I don't think it'll have any tourist appeal but it certainly deserves to!

Does anyone know if everyone in a party has to be 'Under 30' to get said tickets, or is it only the person who makes the booking?
