We saw the matinee yesterday (27th) and I really loved it. It definitely wasn't the funniest laugh out loud farce I have seen, infact I thought it was quite subtle but I think that is why I enjoyed it so much. We had £12 seats in the circle which were perfectly fine, my husband thought they were a little high up but when I told him they were only £12 he was more than happy. We took my 12 year old son who wasn't as impressed, maybe he was just a little too young for a farce, which is slightly worrying as we are taking him to One Man Two Guvnors next week! Anyway, it was a lovely Christmas treat. We both thought John Lithgow was superb.

Does the Civil War get taught anymore? Genuine question. And I don't mean the Rockers v the Mods.
My son in learning all about the Civil War in History right now, he is year 8. My husband and I were sitting watching Matinee on Saturday, kicking ourselves for not bringing him as I think he would have loved it. When I booked I thought it might be a bit too heavy for a 12 year old but definitely not the case. He goes to the theatre with us alot s will not make same mistake again in the futre.

Saw the matinee today and we loved it. Agree Hendhall and Gattis were fantastic. Wanted to stand up and cheer when Henshall giving speech about how great is was to be in England!! My husband doesn't go to the theatre often, his last three shows were Hamlet ( Young Vic,) Three Days in May and Frankenstein and he thought this was far superior to all of those. It's a shame it won't get to be seen by more people, unless transferring but haven't read anything about that. There were atleast 10 empty seats so worth checking for returns.

I have tickets for matinee on 27th December. We are taking our 12 year old son so I am hoping it is suitable. He has seen every family friendly show going so this may be a little different for him.

Today I managed to get two £12 tickets in row C for 6th April matinee. Very happy especially as missed out the first time.
