The £150 premium tickets were set to £15 for performances during July/August. Unfortunately didn't get any myself, but know lots of people who did! Let's wait and see what happens...!
Darn, missed it!

I didn't think this would be one for me but I've been listening to the promo CD tonight and I've fallen in love it. It is such a fun cast recording!

Oh, Andromeda Dench, dear, dear! When you're there, it's blindingly obvious to everyone when it's affectionate and when it's mocking. You don't need to be an X Factor nerd, just to have the average familiarity with it that is shared by the vast majority of the UK population. If you're genuinely as ignorant of it as you claim, you'll obviously get less out of it, but there are very few other people like you. This show is a popular entertainment themed on a public phenomenon that almost everyone has got enotionally involved with at some point and which sends itself up in its formulaic pomposity and opens itself to affectionate mockery which it's quite robust enough to withstand. The vast majority of the UK will lap up the references, but you may have opted out with your disinterest in X Factor.
I don't think it's obvious when you're unfamiliar with the programme. I have never seen an episode of the X Factor and while obviously I'm aware of Simon Cowell I do not know the other judges or the past contenders from previous reviews I've gathered some of the characters were based on. This meant that a lot of mannerism that were added to mock the real life inspirations went over my head and instead of funny they were just annoying and pointless. Perhaps this added to the fact that overal I thought this a weak show (save for Cynthia, Alan and a few stand-out songs). I'm not from the UK but we have a similar TV series back home (which I've also never seen) and I have been living here for 4 years now so while I've been "around" X Factor it simply doesn't appeal to me at all, hence being unfamiliar with most of it.
