I was just thinking that Tim may be more successful $$$ than Andrew with just one show running - The Lion King.  Soon he will Have Aladdin on Broadway.

I loved this show so much I saw it twice - a year apart.  The music is lavish and compelling.  It could be too mature for some to appreciate.

In Topic: New Year's Eve In London?

I've always been in NYC on New Year's Eve and would love to experience another country.  Our outdoor event in Times Square is very time consuming as you must stand outside for 6 hours.  I worked in the area for a few years and that was fun as I could have a party in my office with friends, did not have to stand on a cold street, and had a perfect view of the ball.

What happens in London?

In Topic: Closer 2014 Revival?

I've seen Closer on Stage on the West End and Broadway.  It was awesome in London at small theatre and not so on Broadway in a larger space.  It's all in the casting really.  I don't like recasting from London to NY as the actors just can't bring that authentic experience to the stage.

The film version is good.  It was filmed in between London and New York.  That was the norm in those days that ended with The History Boys.

I would rather see other plays by Marber revived, ie Dealer's Choice or Howard Katz.  How about bringing Notes on a Scandal to the stage?

Everybody say yeah!

They would have to do a massive rewrite because the dialogue butchers British English something rotten.  I'm sure it's not insurmountable, but it would be a challenge.
It will be a simple touch up on the dialect.  Kinky will be a major success on the West End.  I would work best in a 1200 to 14 seat theater.  I'm not fond of The Savoy.  The Phoenix is available soon.
