Good to see the show back in London, might have to try and score some tickets.  I saw the show about 6 times when it was at the Noel Coward, I don't think anyone will be able to better Julie Atherton's Kate Monster for me...I saw the touring version about a year ago in Canterbury, was a good show, but not quite the same!

Finally saw Wicked for the first time today (I know it has taken me far too long!)  Really enjoyed the show.

I was at Billy Elliot Thu evening and it was like the United Nations. I had a French family sat behind me with the mother interpreting EVERYTHING for the children!  OK she was whispering but it was so irritating & I found it difficult to focus on what was being said on stage.  I also had 2 Scandinavian ladies sat next to me and they were talking all the way through; one clearly spoke good English but the other one was asking her friend what was happening. My friend who was much further back said the same was happening there.  I didn't say anything (which is unusual for me) because there were children being told what was going on so I felt mean.  I was quite happy to have an American lady sat next to me who appeared to get the humour but didn't return after the interval.  I would also question why on earth people would take kids to a show like Billy when there really isn't enough visuals so they can work most of it out themselves.  Evening was spoilt I have to say

I had exactly the same happen me today at the Matinee performance of Wicked, but with a big group of Germans.  It really was frustrating, particularly as I had paid for decent seats in the stalls.  It was just the kids chatting throughout too, I was surprised the parents didn't intervene.
