'Decent' is subjective.

To you Merrily was great, I know others who were bored by it.  And likewise, and this seems to shock many on here, many people go to the theatre just to be entertained and escape life for a few hours which is why mamma.mia and the like thrive. And there is nothing wrong with that. That is what theatre is, a form of entertainment and that can come in many forms depending on personal tastes.

Id hate it to all be Sondheim, and thats what makes theatre in this country so great. Diversity. You have your jukebox type shows alongside great plays, Shakespeare and more serious and 'arty' shows like Sondheim

There's not a tune you can hum.
There's not a tune you go bum-bum-bum-di-dum.

After hearing Cales version of Man Up, I think it's a shame he's gone, I much preferred his rendition to Will Blums as it's more...Cunninghamesque. But then again I haven't seen them perform the role so can't really say. Maybe Cale just had a 6 month contract while they look for a more permanent Cunningham? (He and Blum went on as much as each other).
