They changed the matinee time almost immediately after the start of previews when the show was longer than first imagined. Its now a permanent change.

Steffi -  recommend you 'you tube' dermot oleary xfactor - it will give you the background as to why Simon Bailey is  'stealing' the show ... He has him mimicked amazingly!!!

A lot of the award winners are just plain embarrassing, almost as bad on the whole as the Mirren Standard farrago.

I'm amused people think Molloy is a star...

Memphis is one of those shows that I find oddly enjoyable even though its utterly lacking in originality. Still it is preferable to a jukebox mess or From Here to Eternity.

Slick but soulless. I think there was such love for the original production mainly due to the charming story of the leads. Both had been with the show since first workshop over many years and gave fantastic high energy performances and neither were names among Broadway leads or bankable celebs.

I didnt think anyone said Malloy was a star?

Personally im avoiding this cast, ive seen Daniel Koek ruin too many roles to see his valjean and whilst id like to see Carrie the rest dony make me want to buy a ticket when there's other things to see.

The last cast I saw was the ramin/hadley cast and that to me was (with the exception of liam tamne) the strongest cast ive seen overall so far

#293023 Jersey Boys Cast (And Theatre) Change 2014

Strong rumour again that Michael was def brought in last year to become a main Frankie this year. He was what is called a working progress with many extra singing/acting lessons to try and bring him up to the required standard. The english were not happy as he hadn't reached the level that they had expected of him to match Ryan or even some of the other covers who were superior in their vocals. The Americans do not like to be told how to do their job. Their show, their choice. Michael has a very good look which appears to be the most important thing at the moment. We at foh hear and seen many things feel in our personal opinion that he has reached his level he is ever going to have vocally. He doesn't always sing quite in the right key. He appears very nervous and uncomfortable in the role. I'm sure he will have a big fan base with the girls in particular. So not the actor we feel is right to lead a show as this that has had some very high standards in the past.

And we all thought you just hated From Here to Eternity, and the Chocolate Factory transfers, and Spamalot, and Thriller, and the Billy Elliot score, and Stephen Ward, and Happy Days, and The Light Princess...

Just thought I'd report from last night: Absolutely terrific show full of intimacy, intensity and energy, the abilities and talents of the mutlitasking cast absolutely blew me away, highlights being the A Capella version of Gold and Zrinka Cvitešić's peformance as 'Girl' in particular. The reprise of Falling Slowly genuinely got to me, and I left feeling pretty emotional.

David Hunter (I believe, certainly one of the Guy understudies) was on, and I did enjoy his performance, quite nicely understated and a great voice for the material.

edit: I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed seeing Jez Unwin, his performance of Ball of Wax in Ghost was just about the only thing I enjoyed in that show.

Just back from the second night in Manchester. WHAT A FAB SHOW!

I had no preconceptions about it at all, never even saw the film but I sat there literally with a smile on my space the whole night. And guess who the stand out performance was.... Rufus Hound and that was the last thing I was expecting. He's so energetic, very cute, the acting is great and the singing great too. He certainly shows up Robert Lindsay in that department.

All the cast were excellent. No weak links, loved Samantha Bond and the guy who plays the French guy. The costumes and design were gorgeous, it looks very very classy.

Got invited to a focus group afterwards and the feedback was pretty much 100% positive. Some sound issues bring the only real complaint (orchestra too loud on some songs, drowning the vocal).

I really wasn't in the mood for going tonight but so glad I did. Loved it.
