As it gets more and more unlikely that I'll get to see the last show (even if they released tickets at all, I guess air fares will be ridiculously expensive by then so I won't be able to make it), I'm planning to see the show again in April. As I don't want to miss Oli Tompsett's Galileo, does anyone know his off-dates? I'm currently looking at either the Matinee or the Evening show on Wednesday, 16th April.

Off shows according to what he posted on Twitter. March: 26th to 31st April:1st,2nd,3rd,7th,9th,16th,21st,  22nd,23rd. May:1st--7th inclusive,14th, 19th,20th & 21st.

#297712 Bad Behaviour At A Show

Lots of rustling with sweet wrappings and such at Once last night. My look of disapproval at the woman next to me obviously wasn't threatening enough though as she proceeded to offer me some sweets in return.

I was afraid this one would go right over my head as I've never watched an episode of The X Factor and I'm not British. But surprisingly I had a good time watching the show. It's completely bonkers and a few moments were just odd (the Hunchback to name one example).
All in all I enjoyed it. The cast is fantastic. Stand out performances for me are Simon Lipkin, Nigel Harman and Simon Bailey. I really liked Cynthia Eviro but thought her part should have been more in the centre of attention. She got a bit lost next to all the wackiness going on.
I spoke to Simon Lipkin afterwards and he said he sees the show as a mad "X Factor meets Rock of Ages" kind of comedy pop musical. I tend to agree with him there.

Interval was just under 25 minutes.

It's completely different. Personally I'd say Once is a play with music and not your "typical" musical.
I adore Once. It's heartbreaking and beautiful in my opinion. Very simple in terms of set and costumes though. So if you are looking for big sets and spectacle you will probably be disappointed.

Just got an email from the box office telling me the matinee tomorrow starts at 2pm instead of 3pm. I'm guessing that's not just for tomorrow but applies to all matinees.

I thought Arthur Darvill's first show was last night?

He did the matinee on Saturday but they didn't announce it. I'm guessing he wanted a "quiet" first performance to settle in before the gala night yesterday.

Yes, it was confirmed yesterday. It's just a short run though but with the possibility of a UK tour afterwards. :-)

I agree Ryan would be great as Huey but it's definitely not happening.

I haven't seen Ben's Frankie but I have heard nothing but good things about his performance. Also he is such a nice and down to earth guy with a genuine passion for this show. To hear he will be 3rd cover in the new cast makes me sad.

All down to the new producers and their strange ways of handling things.

Any ideas what Ryan's offer too good to refuse could be? I hope it's onstage still, I don't quite get his solo stuff,
It is onstage. He is recording a new Suntan (one of his bands) album as well but the offer refers to a show.

My mother was quite bored and found the cod German accents laughable, as did I, actually.
I admit I actually had problems understanding what was being said in German in the show - and yes, I am German.

Yes, the tour plan I've got lists venues until January 2016. Don't know if the tour is going to continue after that though.
Cast contracts only run for a year as far as I know though so there could be cast changes after June 2015.

And I can't believe I just checked air fares for my only weekend off in March (which would also mean I'd be in London three weekends in a row in March)
Erm.... cough.... I'm in town every weekend from 10th January up until 8th/9th March.... cough (yes, madness but has to be done).

Ian really is brilliant. I will make sure to catch him as Deco again next time I see the show.

Thy haven't announced anything yet. The new lot starts rehearsals this week though it seems so hopefully we will know soon.
