#290102 The Light Princess

Just back from this tonight and I thought it was a truly remarkable piece of work. The score wasn't immediate at all but it coalesced into a beautiful and interesting piece by the end and there were enough stand out beautiful moments to be worth anyone's time.

The performances were mostly top notch (Rosalie Craig deserving of every plaudit going) and the visuals are as good as you've been led to expect. There are some quite amazing set pieces and every scene has things that left me very impressed, both large and small.

The book is the weakness for me. There was some lack of focus and the characters took a long time to really care much about, either good or bad. These problems weren't quite resolved by the end but things had certainly improved.

All in all, an amazing evening and one not to be missed. People are going to be talking about this for years to come - and I very much doubt will see its like again any time soon. I'll be going back from closing!
