the trap actually sits in the extreme back of the pit in both London/Broadway... so could potentially be a lot easier to tour than you would think. However i still very much doubt we will see it on the tour.

I think this production has gotten too much unwarranted flack.

The ensemble are giving exceptional delivery of the material and look and sound impressive.

There are definitely issues with the material until around mid way through the first act but by the time we are urged to follow the band, I was in musical theatre heaven.

The finale had me almost welled up with joy.

Also I was not familiar with the original nor the score. I found the staging of the scene involving the city hall steps & juggling, quietly effective and rather touching. Lighting design in particular at that moment was beautiful.

Thumbs up for the ensemble. Warm applause for Tamsin Carroll and big thumbs up for Christopher Fitzgerald. He brings such easy going "American" charm to the role.

There was no standing ovation this afternoon but certainly an enthusiastic response.

For me, then ensemble efforts are truly great in this production, but they are one of the many aspects that don't quite add up quite right in the show. They don't really sing at all in the first half, and then when they appear at the top of act 2 for the big company number 'come follow the band', they are click tracked... and in such a small venue such tricks just cut you off even more from the whole experience feeling truly 'live'! They are used massively in scenes just not vocally... Why? This is a musical after all!
